THE WEYBORNE

Steeped in centuries of history and shaped by nature’s hand, The Weyborne Estate is a quiet jewel in the rolling hills of England’s South Downs.

Established in 1600 and built by the influential Yaldwyn family in 1640, the manor of the Weyborne Estate abuts the ancient River Wey—once reputed to refresh royal guests and literary greats alike. Stories recall that King Edward VII, George Bernard Shaw, and Alfred Lord Tennyson once drank from these fabled waters on visits to our enchanting grounds.

In 2007, we planted Blackdown’s first vines one the estate’s, where the highest peak rises to 190 meters above sea level. Here, the classic trio of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier flourish in our quintessential terroir—chalky soils, the cool seawashed climate, and a pristine spring of England’s purest water. This combination sets the conditions for world-class sparkling wines produced in the time-honored traditional method.

Throughout the estate, traces of the past intermingle with the promise of a new vintage. Our historic Bathing House, dating back to the 1800s, still whispers of wild swimmers and Tennyson’s poetry. Nearby, the viewing deck offers a vantage point commanding one of the most spectacular views in the South Downs—sweeping across verdant hills to the sea. It’s the perfect setting for intimate gatherings or grand celebrations.

Every bottle we produce reflects the character of The Weyborne. Our elevated position protects the vineyards from frost, allowing our grapes to ripen slowly and develop elegance and finesse. The result is a portfolio of single estate sparkling wines—hand-selected and meticulously crafted to capture the essence of our land. Each sip offers a taste of our heritage, distilled through centuries of tradition and perfected by modern expertise.

From the purity of our waters to the richness of our soil, every element of Weyborne Estate contributes to a wine experience that resonates long after the last glass is poured. Experience our story firsthand when history, terroir, and a commitment to quality converge in every bottle.
