Elizabeth Hawthornthwaite in This England "A must try. Expect brioche, nuts and peaches"
Located in the South Downs, the vines thrive in rich clay and chalk soils, 190m above sea level, in a microclimate. A must-try is The Weyborne's Oriana 2019 which is like sipping Champagne but with a quintessential English twist. Expect brioche, nuts and peaches.

Matthew Jukes in matthewjukes.com "I recognised a serious step up in luminosity, cadence and silkiness."
"I have known Weyborne's commercial director William Sharpley for getting on for 38 years. Wine trade orbits intersect with encouraging regularity, often with never enough time for a chat, rarely more than a nod, but occasionally a glass or two of wine. William's extraordinary tenure set him up perfectly for a career move into our own wine trade, and he picked Nick Clarke's remarkable Weyborne Estate, which has been featured in this very magazine. I liked the 2018 Family Rese

David Pearce in IX Magazine "Weyborne is quietly carving out its niche."
"The South Downs has no shortage of great sparkling producers, but Weyborne is quietly carving out its niche. Oriana 2019 is only their second release, made from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier, sourced from the estate’s oldest vineyard planted in 2004. It’s whole-bunch pressed, with a touch of neutral oak and over three years on lees. The result is fine bubbles, citrus peel, chalky precision and a long, clean finish. “We want to be world class,” says viticulturist Benjami
